Aces Program Book Scholarships
Each semester, our ACT/SAT Prep students are required to participate in the business plan writing activity. This activity is meant to awaken and promote the entrepreneurial spirit in the Aces Program participants. During the short time allowed for this activity, students are broken into teams and required to:
- learn the process of starting a business
- delegate the various responsibilities among themselves
- work together effectively to complete the framework of a solid plan
Over time, we know that the knowledge and experience of working well with others will prove to be invaluable for our students. As a reward for outstanding work, the
Aces Program ‘Future Leader’ Book Scholarship is awarded to the team that writes the business plan that our volunteer judges rate best overall. The scholarship is to be used towards the required textbooks for one semester of post secondary education. The awards are disbursed upon the students' completing registration for their next term of post secondary education.
